The deadly fire that engulfed a cargo ship in Port Newark Wednesday night required a team effort from firefighters all across northeastern New Jersey to respond to, with those from Bergen, Essex, Union and Hudson County all rushing over with aid. But in their shared efforts also came a shared sense of grief, as towns across the county expressed their condolences for the two Newark firefighters who died while fighting the blaze. At least two dozen firefighters from Hudson County responded to the fire, bringing over vehicles and equipment to the scene, officials said.
