The abrupt closure of one Hoboken gym has left employees and members feeling as abandoned as the guy without a spotter. Retro Fitness members received an email Aug. 2 that gave that mere hours of notice that their gym would be closing and their membership would be transferred to the Retro Fitness in Jersey City's Hudson Mall. 'Retro Fitness Hoboken will be closing permanently today at 10 p.m.,' the gym wrote in an email that did not say why the gym was closing or why it provided such short notice to members.
