A rat scampers up a Hoboken sidewalk (file photo) (Caren Lissner/Patch) JERSEY CITY, NJ — The 11 AMC theaters at the Newport Mall in Jersey City have temporarily closed, and a report says it's due to a rat infestation. "We apologize for the inconvenience, but this theatre is temporarily closed due to unforeseen maintenance. Please continue to check back here for updates," says a note on the website for the theaters at the mall. NJ.com reported late on Wednesday that Jersey City's Health Department shut the theater due to a rat infestation, according to a city spokesperson.
