What was once an area of Jersey City pockmarked by industrial warehouses and abandoned lots is now an upscale neighborhood lined with new luxury developments, all sandwiched between the Hoboken border and the entrance to the Holland Tunnel. Now the LeFrak Organization, which made its name in New Jersey by creating the thriving Newport neighborhood, is claiming stake in the area near the light rail tracks and the Cast Iron Lofts.
