Emily Esposito recorded a two-run double as second-seeded Verona scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Glen Ridge 5-4 in the quarterfinals of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 Tournament in Verona. Verona (19-8) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning before Glen Ridge (11-11) tied things up in the sixth. Glen Ridge went on to take a 4-2 lead in the top of the seventh before Verona walked things off. Esposito also pitched a complete-game four-hitter and had eight strikeouts with five walks.
